Nut Restricted Classroom Alert

Mason High School has nut restricted classrooms. Please, do not send any peanut or tree nut containing products for your child to eat during snack in the classroom. Since lunch is eaten in the cafeteria, your child may bring peanut butter, peanuts, or other nut products for lunch. We appreciate your support.

Filter First Signage

Mason Public Schools (MPS) has posted signs near sinks and bottle filling stations in school buildings in compliance with Michigan's Filter First law. The signs are part of following the new state law, not because there is, or was, a problem with the drinking water in any MPS buildings.

First Day of School- August 26, 2026

Wednesday, August 26, 2026, is the first day of school for all students. The first day is a half day following the schedule below. We can't wait to welcome students back for a great school year! 

The half day schedule is:

  • Harvey Education Center: 8:40 AM - 12:07 PM
  • Alaiedon, North Aurelius and Steele Elementary Schools: 8:40 AM - 12:07 PM
  • Mason Middle School: 7:40 - 11 AM
  • Mason High School: 7:40 - 11 AM

New Board of Education Member Named

Mason Public Schools (MPS) Board of Education (BOE) has selected Matt Hall to fill the vacant BOE position. Four individuals, including Hall, were interviewed for the position which will serve through the remainder of the current term and through the next regular school election cycle, ending in 2028.

New Mason Middle School Assistant Principal

Beginning in the 2026-27 school year, Erica Francis will serve as the assistant principal at Mason Middle School (MMS). A familiar face around the district, she has taught math at MMS for more than 20 years and brings a wealth of experience along with a reputation for building strong, positive relationships with students.

Still Time to Register for PreK for All

There's still time to register for Mason's PreK for All preschool program this fall! Classes begin September 8, 2026, at the Harvey Education Center.

My Ride K-12 App

Beginning in the 2026-27 school year, Mason Public Schools will offer the My Ride K-12 app to families. This is a free app designed to allow families access to their student’s transportation information and make communication with families faster and easier.
