Mason Public Schools’ Superintendent Ronald Drzewicki Announces Retirement
Superintendent of Mason Public Schools, Ronald Drzewicki, notified the Board of Education on Monday, February 28, 2022, of his intent to retire.
Mr. Drzewicki has served public education for 35 years in several roles, as superintendent of Mason Public Schools and White Pigeon Community Schools, principal at Coldwater Community Schools and teacher at Vandercook Lake Public Schools. His retirement is effective September 1, 2022.
“I have so much respect for the difference our team of educators and support staff makes in the lives of our students each and every day,” said Mr. Drzewicki. “Without a doubt, the highlight of my career has been here in Mason working alongside the best in the business. It has been an honor and a privilege to serve Mason Public Schools for the past eight years,” Mr. Drzewicki added, “I am confident that Mason will continue to provide academic excellence, in a caring environment, for years to come.”
A few highlights of Mr. Drzewicki’s career at Mason Public Schools:
- Mason’s Alaiedon Elementary was named a 2021 National Blue Ribbon School (NBRS) by the U.S. Department of Education.
- Formed the district’s Diversity Committee to create a climate and culture reflective of values related to diversity, equity and inclusion.
- Successfully passed a $69.7 million ballot initiative on November 7, 2017. The proposal includes improvements to district facilities, technology, safety and security.
Over the next few months, the Board of Education will search for and hire a new superintendent.
