Summer Reminders and Information
Summer is a great time to get a jump on planning for the next school year. Families can ensure they are prepared for the fall by taking care of some items during summer break.
Building and Office Hours
School offices and buildings will close for the summer in June and reopen in August. Please check the building websites for updates as the school year approaches. To reach the district during the summer, please contact Central Office staff at 517.676.2484.
Construction Information
The South parking lot at Mason High School will be renovated over the summer. The project is expected to begin July 14 and be finished by August 16. There will be no access to the South parking lot during construction.
Seniors will be allowed to paint parking spaces after the renovation. Additional information will be provided to high school families later in the summer.
Class Schedules and School Supplies
Classroom assignments for elementary students will be provided via Skyward in mid-August.
Middle school student schedules will be viewable on Skyward in mid-August.
High school schedules are viewable on Skyward now.
Lists of basic school supplies for elementary students will be updated on each building’s website this summer and will be available in early August. Middle school supply lists are available on the Mason Middle School website and will be updated this summer.
Sports Physicals
All middle and high school students who plan to try out for any sport must have a current Sports Physical on file prior to tryouts. The Sports Physical Card must be completed by a medical provider on or after April 15 of the previous school year in order to be valid. Sports physicals are available through your students’ primary care doctor as well as most urgent care and walk in clinics. Mason Public Schools (MPS) does not offer sports physical clinics.
Work Permits
Work permits for students under 16 and for students ages 16 and 17 are available on the Mason Public Schools website. Students complete the first section of the form and the student’s employer will complete the second portion. Once both sections are complete, please email the form to Lisa Bercaw or Jodi Somerville for certification.
Transcripts and Report Cards
Elementary and middle school report cards for the 2024-25 school year are available in students’ Skyward accounts.
Students in need of transcripts can request them using Parchment. Transcripts requested online are sent securely to the colleges, universities or scholarship funds selected by the student.
