Mason High School

To ensure the health and safety of all spectators in attendance at Mason High School football games, all fans are asked to review the spectator expectations with your family before attending home football games.

• No alcohol, drugs, tobacco or vaping on school property.
• All K-8 students must be accompanied and supervised by an adult.
• No horseplay/running around in any part of the stadium, including behind the bleachers.
• Additionally, no throwing footballs or other objects.

Throughout the school year, students and staff will take part in drills to practice the five actions in the Standard Response Protocol (SRP) which was implemented last year. The SRP uses clear, common language to explain five specific actions that can be taken during an emergency. By standardizing the vocabulary, school district officials, staff, students and emergency responders can understand the actions being taken and status of the event. 

Drills are an essential part of keeping our school community ready for any situation. By taking part in drills, we:

• Build familiarity and “muscle memory” through regular practice to help students and staff respond calmly and efficiently
• Test current procedures and systems and allow us to evaluate and improve our emergency procedures
• Meet required state safety requirements
• Create confidence through practice. When everyone knows what to do, anxiety decreases and safety increases

Mason Public Schools (MPS) has posted signs near sinks and bottle filling stations in school buildings in compliance with Michigan's Filter First law. The signs are part of following the new state law, not because there is, or was, a problem with the drinking water in any MPS buildings.
