Board of Education

The Mason Public Schools Board of Education is made up of seven members who serve overlapping six-year terms. Regular meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Mason City Hall, unless otherwise noted. 

All meetings are open to the public, except as allowed by law for matters such as personnel issues, student discipline, contract negotiations or legal consultations. Special meetings are scheduled as needed. No votes are taken during closed sessions.

A quorum of four members is required to conduct business. The superintendent and administrative staff attend to provide updates and background information. Meeting minutes are recorded and available to the public. Regular meetings are recorded and Live Streamed on YouTube.
