Welcome back! We look forward to seeing students on Wednesday to kick off the 2020-21 school year. Below are a few items that we want to address prior to the start of school:

Thursday, August 20, 2020 - 4:21pm

Notification of routing for transportation is delayed until the district returns to in-person instruction. To increase safety and provide social distancing, families will be encouraged to opt-out of bus service.

Wednesday, August 19, 2020 - 9:18am

The Mason Public Schools Special Education Department has been in discussion and in the planning stages surrounding the concept of in-person instruction for special education students. Our first priority is the safety and health of our students and staff and that has been a large part of our discussion and planning. The Michigan Department of Education (MDE) typically provides guidance to districts and special education departments when there are significant changes.

Hello Mason families and staff,

Friday, August 7, 2020 - 2:40pm

This week, Mason Public Schools (MPS) has released a Request for Proposals (RFP) to increase custodial services throughout District facilities. The purpose of the RFP is to add additional custodial capacity to the existing custodial operations of the District. In preparation of the possibility of in-person instruction resuming this fall, MPS will enhance existing cleaning measures to maintain a safe environment for students and staff.

Wednesday, August 5, 2020 - 8:32am

Maya Angelou said, “in diversity there is beauty and there is strength.” Last fall, Mason Public Schools (MPS) created a committee consisting of teachers, students and community members to examine the District’s strengths and weaknesses when it comes to diversity and inclusion. This spring, the committee made a recommendation to the Superintendent to hire a professional consultant that would guide the direction of the team as well as support the District’s Strategic Plan.
