Welcome Back Information

Welcome back! We look forward to seeing students on Wednesday to kick off the 2020-21 school year. Below are a few items that we want to address prior to the start of school:

  • Classroom Log-On Info: You child’s teacher/principal will be sending you information on how to log onto Google Meet, Seesaw or Zoom for lessons. You will receive these messages either Monday or Tuesday.

  • Zoom Outages: On Monday, Zoom experienced Nation-wide outages. If this happens again, we have set up a backup plan for lessons.
    • If your child cannot log into their Zoom accounts, please wait 5 minutes after class has begun and then check your Google Classroom or Seesaw accounts. Teachers will be posting a Google Meet link inside Google Classroom or Seesaw for students to use as a backup.

  • Hotspots: If your home is receiving a hotspot, you will be notified via phone. A time will be set up to pick up the device. We will be ordering additional hotspots as our current supply we have on hand has been allocated to families in need.  Please look for additional information regarding hotspots as we receive more inventory

  • Materials Pickup: The High School will be distributing materials to students on Monday and Tuesday evening. If you have a child at the High School, you should have received information on this. For Middle School and Elementary students, material pickup will take place next week. Please look for more information on the date and time for this from your building principals.

  • Chromebooks: Thank you all for your patience as we distributed Chromebooks to students. Please charge your Chromebook and login to prepare for Wednesday. If you are having any technical issues with your technology, please contact help@masonk12.net.

  • Food Distribution: Beginning this Thursday, August 27, food distribution will resume each Tuesday and Thursday, from 4-6 p.m. in the Mason High School parking lot or Mason Middle School North parking lot. Families who qualify for free or reduced meals, and any other Mason families who would like to purchase school meals, will be able to do so. Please note there will be no pickup on Thursday September 3rd due to the holiday. More information can be found here or please email meals@masonk12.net.

  • Alaiedon Elementary & North Aurelius Elementary Virtual Ribbon Cuttings: On Monday, August 31, we will be officially unveiling the completed construction of Alaiedon and North Aurelius. Please join us on Facebook Live for an online walk-through of Alaiedon Elementary at 5:30 PM and North Aurelius Elementary at 6:30 PM. We would prefer to have all of you celebrating in the buildings with us, but we are excited to showcase the work in these two schools. It is important for us to share and celebrate the hard work that went into these buildings and we hope that you can join us via Facebook Live to see them for yourselves.

Thank you and have a great first day!

Ronald Drzewicki, Ed.S.
