Mason Public Schools has begun a truly innovative partnership with Khan Academy to provide online resources to students throughout the District. This partnership is one of only a few throughout the State of Michigan.
The focus of the partnership with Khan Academy will primarily be in the subject area of mathematics for all grades. There will also be offerings to support Mason High School students in preparing for the SAT test. Studies have shown that combining Khan Academy with regular practice correlates to increased scores on standardized achievement tests.
“This is a great resource for students who want to grow their skill level and prepare for the SAT,” said Ronald Drzewicki, Ed.S., Superintendent. “Students can work independently at their own pace to improve their chances of success in school and beyond.”
This is an option for families and students who want to continue learning throughout the summer and beyond. All students in grades 3-12 are eligible to access Khan Academy at no cost. We encourage students to participate but there is no requirement. Please contact the Mason Public Schools Help Desk firstname.lastname@example.org if you’d like more information or need support signing up.
Khan Academy is an American non-profit educational organization with the goal of creating a set of online tools that help educate students. The organization produces short lessons in the form of videos. All resources are available for free to users on the website and app.
