Mason Public Schools is joining 538 local and 56 intermediate school districts across Michigan to celebrate January as School Board Recognition Month.

On December 15th, Mason community members were asked to “Stuff the Bus” with non-perishable food, toys and hygiene items to help benefit students, families and members of the community who are in need. The community rose to the task of filling the bus with non-perishable food items and canned goods, toiletry items and toys for children ages 6-14 to donate to the Mason Food Bank. Mason, MI –In order to keep students and staff safe, Mason Public Schools has begun the process of utilizing the ALICE approach to safety and security. ALICE, which stands for Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evacuate is a research-based, proactive approach to responding to an active shooter situation. It has been adopted by businesses, schools and organizations across the nation to prepare employees, staff, students and personnel on how to respond to violent intruder situations.

New Mason Public Schools Buses

Mason, MI - On Monday, November 5th, Mason Public Schools Board of Education approved bids to install video camera systems and stop arm cameras on all of the district buses. The district purchased new buses thissummer which have this technology installed. The district’s existing buses, which are not currently equipped will have this technologyinstalled in the next month. As there has been significant growth in robotics within Mason Public Schools, the district has announced the investment in a dedicated Robotics Center for student use. The Robotics Center will be located at Mason High School and will be available for use by the high school robotics club, the Tractor Technicians, the middle school robotics club, the Tractor Technicians in Training as well as elementary clubs.
